Here i will be describing Jefferson's statute of religous freedom.Why it was so important.What amendment it led to in the constituiton,and describing that amendment.I will also give a brief explanation on the definition on what the word statute means.
Jefferson's statute of religous freedom blocked the government from forcing people to attend church or to support a particular church.Prohibited the government from punishing individual either personally or in terms of propertys as a result to the persons religion.Decalares that people have a right to their religous beliefs.
Statute is a law put into effect by the legislative branch of a government.
It was important because it stated that people had freedom to their religous beliefs, nad if this wasn't stated then we would all have to have the same beliefs and if we didnt we would get legally punished.
